SPHINX EDUCATIONAL FUND
Impacting the Communities We Serve
The Sphinx Educational Fund, Inc. (SEF) was initially established to raise and award scholarship funds for deserving youth in Metropolitan Phoenix, seeking to pursue post-secondary education. While scholarship still remains a pillar of SEF, our mission has expanded to address the needs of young male mentorship, and overall health awareness of our greater Phoenix community. Today, SEF, seeks to better our community by focusing on the following areas of development; scholarship, mentorship, and health awareness.
“In recognizing the humanity of our fellow beings, we pay ourselves the highest tribute.” – Thurgood Marshall

Empowering Youth Through Education - Sphinx Educational Fund -
Areas Of Impact

Scholarship
Since 2004, SEF has been dedicated to empowering deserving youth through scholarships for higher education. Our flagship event, the Annual Thurgood Marshall Scholarship Brunch, held in partnership with the Thurgood Marshall College Fund, serves as our primary fundraising initiative to support this mission.

Mentorship
Through the Developing Tomorrow’s Leaders (DTL) Program, we are dedicated to nurturing the growth and development of boys and young men (ages 6-17) through comprehensive mentorship. This initiative empowers them to build confidence, develop strong character, and cultivate leadership skills that enable them to make a meaningful impact in their communities and beyond.

Health Awareness
SEF recognizes the profound impact of holistic health—physical, mental, emotional, and financial wellness—on building stronger, more resilient communities. In pursuit of this component of our mission, we collaborate with both for-profit and nonprofit organizations to deliver engaging programs and educational initiatives that promote comprehensive health awareness, empowering individuals and families in the communities we serve.
